Who will be named the 2026 winner of the Extreme Chili Alliance World Belt?!

The Extreme Chili Alliance was created to recognize people that partake in pure Chili eating competitions.  The belt match consists of competitors eating increasingly spicy Ontario grown peppers.  The peppers keep coming until only one person remains. No speed round and no sauces.

One by one, the competitors from the first Heating up the Capital tapped out until 473 grams were eaten by the winner!!  The Extreme Chili Alliance Belt was awarded for the first time to Mike Jack of London, ON.  Mike had the belt in his possession for one year and also received a cash prize and a trophy to keep.

At Heating up the Capital 2, five competitors started by eating 13 rounds of peppers. At the end of those 13 rounds, four competitors were left and started eating super-hots in a sudden death round.

Heating up the Capital 3 saw Mike Jack defending his title against 3 other brave souls.  Shane “Viking Heat” Hammond and Aaron “Monster Heat” Jewels competed against Mike in previous competitions plus an up and coming chili head, Mike Bastien!! Mike Jack won but was pushed by his competitors!!

Year 4 had some newcomers to the Belt Match. Jessica “Spice-ica’ Millar went up against Mike “Spice Master” Bastien and Blake “Flame Thrower” Hambly but Jessica out lasted them all!

Year 5, Jessica “Spice-ica’ Millar prevailed as the 2-time Champion!

Think you can beat the 2-time champ? Start training today!!

The belt remains property of Heating up the Capital and Extreme Chili Alliance and will be returned when the next competition takes place.

The belt was donated by an anonymous benefactor in 2022.

Congratulations to the 2025 Contestants!

Jessica “Spice-ica” Millar

Jess “Spice-ica” Millar named 2025 ECA WORLD BELT CHAMPION!

Jessica “Spice-ica” Millar had wanted to join a pepper eating contest for quite some time. At the 2nd annual Heating up the Capital, Jess competed in the Pepper Challenge where chili heads ate increasingly spicier peppers for their own bragging rights. Jess loved the heat and flavour of the peppers and she was hooked! At the 4th annual hot sauce expo, Jess walked away with the belt and the prize money!!

Not only was she able to defend the title to be Canada’s Extreme Chili Alliance Champion again this year, Jessica was the only one that ate each of the 8 increasingly spicy peppers and did not tap out!! She almost lost it once but managed to keep it down.

Will she be able to defend the 2-time title and be Canada’s Extreme Chili Alliance Champion?? Find out at the 6th annual Heating up the Capital on Sept 19!

Mike “Spicy Master” Bastien

Mike “Spicy Master” Bastien

Spice Master Mike is Back for Redemption!

For the third year in a row, Spice Master Mike is stepping into the inferno of the Extreme Chili Alliance Belt Match — and this time, it’s personal.

After battling through waves of molten-hot peppers last year, Mike fought his way to a hard-earned 2nd place finish. But the burn of defeat has only fueled his fire. Now, with grit, heat, and a point to prove, he’s coming for the top spot and the coveted Belt. Will this be the year the Spice Master claims his throne?

Third time’s the charm… or third time’s the burn.

Tabitha “Spicy T” Cameron

Tabitha “Spicy T” Cameron

The Queen of Capsaicin and the Spiciest Mom in Canada!

Forget world records—Spicy T is about to light up the Capital Punishment Hot Pepper Eating Contest! She’s a mom of five, but don’t let the family van fool you—Tabitha has been breathing fire since the age of 3, thanks to older siblings who thought it’d be funny to feed her hot peppers. Spoiler alert: it backfired. She built a heat tolerance that now leaves grown men sweating and tapping out over mild
buffalo wings.

This may be her first official competition, but she’s no rookie. She doesn’t just eat the world’s hottest peppers—she grows them, splices them, and even creates her own hybrids that could probably power a small furnace. Her morning smoothie? Ghost pepper. Her light snack? Carolina Reaper jelly on toast. And when someone dares complain her food is too spicy? They’re handed a glass of milk and shown the door.

She’s fearless. She’s fiery. She’s hotter than the peppers she cultivates—and trust us, those could melt steel. Will she cry? No. Will she sweat? Maybe. Will she terrify the competition with her effortless destruction of the hottest chilies on the planet? Absolutely.

So grab your goggles and your dairy products, folks—Spicy T is coming in hot, and she’s about to prove that spice isn’t just a flavor—it’s a lifestyle.

RJ "The Chili Villain" Fillion

RJ "The Chili Villain" Fillion

RJ learned of this contest from his little cousin, “Spice-ica” Millar.  He was always a fan of hot peppers, but an opportunity to compete against his cousin (in an official capacity, no less) proved too tempting to pass up.  This is his first ever official eating contest but he is no stranger to competition and is often teased by family for being “too stubborn to quit”.

He spent his summer growing various pepper plants to help build his tolerance, preparation being what he believes to be the key to success.  Let’s see whether his stubborn-ness and competitive spirit stands any chance when it comes to not just eating, but eating the spiciest chilies around!

Rob "Firey" Phinney

He’s on a mission to prove that he’s got what it takes to hang with the best of the best in the spicy food game. With his fiery personality and taste buds that can handle even the hottest of peppers, Rob is ready to bring the heat and show the world what he’s made of!
